Delhi and its Food

Delhi is the city of foodies. From the best street food joints to fine dining restaurants, the city has everything. This article is for those who are new to this city and want to explore the delicacies the city has to offer.

1. Karol Bagh

This place is a gem for street food lovers. The place is famous for its street pasta, Chole Bhature from Om Corner, The famous Chole Kulche with Aalu, Roshan Di Kulfi, heart-shaped Tikki from Sindhi Tikki Corner, the famous Moonglet from KB Chaat Wala, momos from Nirmal Momos Point.

2. North Campus

This place will not disappoint you with its eateries. The famous places include Tom Uncle Maggie, Momo’s Point, Bille Di Hatti, Chache Di Hatti, Shagun Asian Eatery, Bamboo Hut, and South Indian Cafe.

3. South Campus aka SatyaNiketan

This place is perfect for your friends. The place has a variety of value for money cafes and is especially famous for its hukka. Some of the famous and recommended cafes are Big Yellow Door, Shake Eat Up, QD’s, Vadapav Junction,

4. Pandara Road

This place has some of the best fine dining restaurants of Delhi. Some of my recommended places are Have More, Gulati, and Chicken Inn for North Indian Cusine, Veg Gulati is the best option for vegetarians, and Ichiban is the place for Pan Asian food lovers.

5. Lajpat Nagar

This place also serves a large variety of street food. Some of my favorites are Moong Daal Laddu, Chole Kulche, Pav Bhaji and Dabeli from Jhakas Pav Bhaji, Chaat from Bhalla King, and Dolma Aunty’s momos, one of the most famous places for momos, Chinese from Golden Fiesta, Avantika Food Corner, Chole Bhature from Baba Nagpal Corner.

The fine dining includes Sandoz, Haldirams etc.

6. Old Delhi

This place is a paradise for street food lovers. From Mughalai cuisine to chaat and sweets, this place has everything. You can reach here from Chandani Chowk or Chawari Bazaar Metro Station.

Famous places: Natraj Dahi Bhalla, Daulat Ki Chaat, Lotan Chole Kulche, Jalebiwala, Jung Bahadur Kachori Wala, and Shree Balaji Chaat Bhandaar, Khan omelet Corner, Kuremal Kulfi etc.

7. Netaji Subash Place

The coaching, college and office hub has some of the most famous food joints of Delhi. Billu’s Hut serves one of the most famous kinds of pasta and chilly potato of Delhi. The famous Bitto Tikki Wala serves the delicious chaat, including Pav Bhaji, Tikki, Chole Kulche

8. Hudson Lane / GTB Nagar

This place is one of my favorite places to hang out with friends. It houses some of the best cafes of the city. Some of my favorites are Woodbox Cafe, Indus Flavours, QD’s, Ricos, BYD (Big Yellow Door), Paparizza, Hudson Cafe, Housefull Cafe, Abongchiiz, Cafeteria and Co, Mamas Buoi, Xero Degrees etc.

Each of them is famous for its Cusine and ambiance.

9. Connaught Place

This place is the most famous place for fine dining restaurants in Delhi. Some of my recommended ones are Imperial Spice for its authentic North Indian food and excellent service and royal ambiance, Ministry of Beer famous for its Brewery and food, United Coffe House, Ghoomar famous for its Rajasthani food, Hotel Sarvana Bhavan for South Indian food, Lord of the drinks, Junkyard Cafe, Warehouse Cafe etc.

Odeon Special is famous for its Ice and fire paan.

10. Nehru Place

The place has a food mall called Epicuria. It has food court having McD, Pizzahut, Dominos, BurgerKing, Karims, Sona Sweets etc. The mall also has some of the best cafes and restaurants like Lord of the drinks, Nandos, Social, United Coffee House, Chatter House etc.

The place is also famous for its street food. Sona sweets famous for its Pav bhaji, Chole bhature, Golgappe etc, New Punjabi Khana famous for North Indian food.

Though I have covered only 40–50 percent of the Delhi. Here I will conclude this article with some other famous food joints.

Wong’s Kitchen in Rohini is one of the most famous Chinese food hub of the city with its unique, innovative dishes. Sita Ram DiwanChand, Chawla DE Mashoor Chur Chur Naan in Paharganj are famous for Chole Bhature and Chur Chur Naan. Shahdara is famous for Bhole Shankar Kachori wala, Afeem Wale Chole Bhature, Nagori Puri etc.

Kumar Pav Bhaji for Pav Bhaji, vadapav and Samosa Hub for its innovative Samosas are the famous food joints of Krishna Nagar.
